Blood moon! Bloody Owesome!

So we have kicked into full winter over here. Endless dripping noses, dark mornings and slippery footpaths. Drizzle. Mist. Condensation... Dropping kids at school in a line of steaming cars. Blah. Thank god for coffee. And red wine. And of course the odd Munro sock ...One of the benefits of making socks are toasty toes. No one round here leaves the house without them.  And then there was that blood moon! What a sight. First we watched it rise big and full above the hills and it was insane - the kids were completely fascinated. Then the adults got up and...

The kindness of women

My mum's lovely friend took a jersey I was wearing recently and darned a hole that was growing in the front of it. Some things we have learnt lately...

Some things we have learnt lately...

- Merino socks DO work in summer... not only peaking out from under your sandals, but they keep you cool when it's warm, and warm when it's cool (especially in Wellington where southern winds pick up on a whim). - Don't throw away your scraps! We are still waiting on new fabric held up by Covid to come into the country. Luckily we keep what falls under the cutting table so are sewing using scraps. I promise this does not impact the integrity of your undies... they are possibly even lovelier.- If the mob steal your caravan, don't give in!...
